If you want to downgrade your PS3 Slim which you bought recently and it has 4.11 firmware then it might not be able to downgrade to 3.55. So, Which PS3 Slim Models are Downgradeable?<br />

The PS3 contains a data code on the back of it. Just turn your PS3 Slim so that you face the bottom of it. There will be a 'Data Code' which will tell you if you can downgrade your PS3 Slim or not. </div>

There has been a PS3 jailbreak 4.11 released by Codex which have just worked for a small number of users. They have removed the mediafire link which contained the jailbreak. But you can still access their website called <a href="http://ezhax.webs.com/" target="_blank">http://ezhax.webs.com/</a>. If they ever reupload it again I will post the linkl on this blog! </div>

There has been rumors of a new PS3 Jailbreak 4.11 which is being developed by a developer called 'zadow28'. Looks like it might be real. Well we will just have to wait for it!</div>

There is an exploit which will enable you to play new PS3 games without updating your system firmware. This is preferable because if you are on cfw or ofw 3.55 and you want to jailbreak your PS3, but you buy a new game which requires updating. Or you are on 4.11 and you're waiting for the jailbreak (like me!) and you don't want to update.<br />
Many PS3 discs download the update from the internet when you start the game but some PS3 gaems also contain the update file within the disc. To prevent updating the system firmware you need:<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>The .TIF exploit.</li>
<li>A game that runs on your old (and current) firmware (probably a game which came with your PS3).</li>
<li>A new game that requires updating (of course!).</li>
<li>A USB or memory stick.</li>
</ol>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Download the .TIF exploit here:</div>
<div>
<a href="http://ps3.dashhacks.com/system/files/PS3_Tif_Exploit.zip" target="_blank">PS3_Tif_Exploit.zip </a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<u><b>Steps:</b></u></div>
<div>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>Extract the .rar file wherever you want.</li>
<li>Make a folder inside your USB or memory stick called 'PHOTOS' (without quotations).</li>
<li>Copy the <u>'PS3 Tif Exploit.tif'</u> file into the PHOTOS folder inside your USB.</li>
<li>Then just follow the video below:</li>
</ol>

Like I said in my earlier post you will only be able to stream files with extensions that are supported by Windows Media Player. So if you want to play .mkv files or other extensions which are supported by VLC Media Player you will need a software called PS3 Media Server which will be able to stream files through VLC (the PS3 Media Server will set VLC as the default streaming engine).<br />
<br />
Download PS3 Media Server here:<br />
<a href="http://www.afterdawn.com/software/general/download_splash.cfm/ps3_media_server?software_id=1984&version_id=49030" target="_blank">PS3 Media Server v1.60.0</a></div>

<br />
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">When I tried to stream movies to my PS3 using my Windows 7 PC, I thought I had to just enable sharing in Windows Media Player but I couldn't find any options related to that. So I found this solution:</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">*Your PS3 and PC should be on the same network.</span></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Before starting I would request you to note down the MAC address of your PS3</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">You can find your PS3 MAC address in</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">1) System Setting > System Information</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">2) Network Settings. (Scroll towards bottom)</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Once you note down the Mac address then on your PC go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change Advance Sharing Settings.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="border: 0px; color: black; font-family: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;"><a href="http://www.igoy.in/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Control-Panel.JPG" rel="lightbox-WMP12" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" title="Control Panel"><img alt="Control Panel" height="253" src="http://www.igoy.in/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Control-Panel.JPG" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;" title="Control Panel" width="553" /></a></span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Then you need to make sure:</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">- Network Discovery is ON<br />- File & Printer Sharing is ON</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">After that click on Media Streaming options.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">

<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Once you are done with it you would see a window of Media Sharing</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">On the Show devices drop bar, select All Networks</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Then you would see some Unknown device / devices.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Double click each Unknown device to see the MAC address of the device. If the address matches your PS3 MAC address then allow that device for media sharing.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">

<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"> You would now be able to share your media (If your firewall is not blocking media</span><span style="font-family: inherit;"> access).</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
*Now head over to your PS3 and when you play a video or music you will be asked to Enable WMA playback. Just enable it in the System Settings.</div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
*To watch movies from PC just place a movie in the 'Video' folder in your Documents on your PC. Similarly for music, just place a song in the 'Music' folder. But only files that are supported by Windows Media Player can be played like .avi, .mp4, mp3 etc..</div>
<div style="border: 0px; letter-spacing: 1px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 20px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
You will not be able to play other extensions such as .mkv files because they are not supported by Windows Media Player. To do that you need PS3 Media Server whose link I will provide in my next post.</div>

Whenever a new system update is released by Sony for the PS3, the update becomes mandatory if you want to access online play or you update your game. But updating the software might not let you install a custom firmware to jailbreak your PS3. In that case you will have to wait for the jailbreak for the next version which might take some time.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
So to access the Playstation Store without updating you will need a software called <u>'LG5Tool'</u>.<br />
<br />
Download the Software here:<br />
<a href="https://rapidshare.com/files/292758010/LG5tool.rar" target="_blank">LG5Tool.rar</a><br />
<br />
Just unzip the rar file and there will be a text file called <u>'Follow @MrJailbreak619 on twitter.txt'</u>. Just open it and all the instructions to bypass the system update are given.<br />
<br />
*Note: The PS3 and your PC should be connected to the same network.</div>

The Remote Play feature on the PS3 allows the users to access the XMB menu (the PS3 menu) on our PC or PSP or Mobile Device provided that both the devices are connected on the same network. This can be really helpful who record tutorial videos and with the Remote Play feature you won't need to record video from the PS3! </div>Asif Salamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07108456248391121330noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4600710459275588690.post-62535775230271468322012-08-11T23:09:00.001+05:302012-08-11T23:40:04.235+05:30How to use Set Up Remote Play with PS3 on Non-Vaio PC:<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

3. Open Absinthe and be sure you are still connected via USB cable to your computer.</div>

4. Click ‘Jailbreak’ and wait…. just be patient and do not disconnect your device.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px;">
5. Once jailbroken return to iTunes and restore your backup from earlier. Right click on your device name under the ‘Devices’ menu in the left panel of iTunes and click ‘Restore from Back Up…’ then select the latest backup you created before. (restoring this backup will return all the content previously on your device ie, apps, photos, etc.)</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px;">
6. That's it! Your Device is Jailbroken!</div>

Sometimes when you update your PS3 through USB then you might get the error: Applicable Update Data Not Found.<br />
<br />
Don't worry the fix is very simple:<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
All you have to do is update through the recovery menu. Just start your PS3 in recovery mode and then there will be an option: System Update. Just select that and then it will scan your USB and install the Update.</div>Asif Salamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07108456248391121330noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4600710459275588690.post-20692453281070210182012-08-08T00:11:00.001+05:302012-08-08T00:11:28.232+05:30How to access Recovery Mode On the PS3:<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">

Many people want to jailbreak their PS3 4.11 but there hasn't been any custom firmwares released by any hacker or dev. But if you want to just install a firmware for your PS3 4.11 then just download the files in the link. After downloading and installing it you wouldn't be able to install any packages because the encrypted keys haven't still been encrypted but it's just for show and tell!<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Download Link:<br />
<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?fclozrwga94id4b">http://www.mediafire.com/?fclozrwga94id4b</a><br />
<br />
Just install through recovery mode. After installing go to<u> Security Settings </u>and press<u> L1+R1+Square+Select </u>and type the password:<u> 0000</u>.<br />
After inserting the password there will be a <u>Install Package Files</u> folder below Network Settings.<br />
<br />
<br />
To uninstall the firmware download the link below and update through recovery mode:<br />

As you all know that the PS3 can be customised by using themes. You can download themes from various sites on the Internet and can also do a Google search. But if you don't like any theme or if you can't find any theme of your choice, then you can also make your own theme.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Go to this website to download a software called <u>PS3 Theme Builder:</u></div>

If it is, then you're good to go!<br />
<br />
<span style="color: red; font-size: large;"><b><u>Where to Download The PS2 Games:</u></b></span><br />
<br />
To download PS2 games go to <a href="http://www.ps3iso.com/">http://www.ps3iso.com/</a> and head over to PS2 Game Downloads.<br />
Download the Game of your choice.<br />
OR you can download the PS2 games<br />
<a name='more'></a>using torrents. Just download Utorrent and head over to a torrent site and download your game.<br />
<br />
<b><u><span style="color: red; font-size: large;">What to do after the download has finished:</span></u></b><br />
<br />
If your game has multiple parts or .rar file then you need to extract these. Just right click on the first .rar file and click Extract Files. Select where you want to extract.<br />
After extraction you will see only one file that will be the ISO file. This is the file that you want to burn.<br />
<br />
OR Some downloads do not contain multiple .rar files, they just contain the .ISO file. Then in that case you don't need to extract!!<br />
<br />
How To Burn The ISO Files:<br />
<br />
To Burn the ISO files you will need a blank DVD-R (DVD+R also works). Buy a blank DVD that is of first class (made by SONY or Verbatim or Fujitsu) or if you use other local brands or third class media then they might not work (but I will post on how to make the third class media work on the PS2).<br />
<br />
To Burn the ISO I highly recommend DVD Decrypter OR PowerISO.<br />
<br />
Download DVD Decrypter here:<br />
<a href="http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/">http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/</a> <br />
<br />
Download PowerISO here:<br />
<a href="http://www.poweriso.com/download.htm">http://www.poweriso.com/download.htm</a> <br />
<br />
Insert your blank DVD, open PowerISO or DVD Decrypter and burn the ISO File( I used PowerISO).<br />
After Burning the DVD, insert it into your PS2 and play with any of your modding technique.<br />
ENJOY!!<br />

But in this video, you require an already modded PS2 (so if you already have a modded PS2 then you don't need to exploit your memory card- there is another method to play games from a hard disk about which I will post later). But you can try it if you want:<br />
<div><br />

<a name='more'></a>of PS2 mods:<br />
<br />
<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Installing a Modchip</li>
<li>Swap Magic</li>
<li>Memory Card Exploit (Free McBoot or FMCB)</li>
</ul><br />
1. <u><b>Installing a Modchip:</b></u><br />
<u><b><br />
</b></u><br />
It is called a hard -mod. What you do is you install a modchip (that you have to buy online or you can go to a pirate-stuff store) on the motherboard of your PS2. Then you will be able to run pirated games.<br />
<br />
Buying a modchip and installing it is a tedious process and you might even brick your PS2. So you can directly go to shops that will install modchips for you (like electronics store where jailbreaking is done).<br />
They will open up your PS2, install the modchip by soldering and then close your PS2 and you're good to go!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://shoptemp.net/product_images/user/231-modbo_745.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://shoptemp.net/product_images/user/231-modbo_745.jpg" width="196" /></a></div><br />
<br />
2. <u><b>Swap Magic:</b></u><br />
<u><b><br />
</b></u><br />
Swap magic is a CD (have to buy online from <a href="http://www.swapmagic3.com/">http://www.swapmagic3.com/</a>) that you need to put in the tray of the PS2 and then load the swap magic program and then swap it with your downloaded game. But you need to block the sensors of your PS2 so that you don't need to open the PS2 lid while swapping discs. This is called the Paper-Tape method which I will post about some time later. It's also requires opening up your PS2 but it can be done without the need of an expert. It's much easier than the modchip method if you plan on modding your PS2 yourself.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="color: black; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" height="151" src="http://www.swapmagic3.com/superufopro8/upload_files/intro01.jpg" width="150" /><br />
Insert disc</td><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="" height="151" src="http://www.swapmagic3.com/superufopro8/upload_files/intro02.jpg" width="150" /><br />
Load Program</td><td style="text-align: center;"> <img alt="" height="151" src="http://www.swapmagic3.com/superufopro8/upload_files/intro03.jpg" width="150" /><br />
Swap your disc</td><td style="text-align: center;"> <img alt="" height="151" src="http://www.swapmagic3.com/superufopro8/upload_files/intro04.jpg" width="150" /><br />
Play game</td></tr>
</tbody></table><br />
<div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: center;"> <img alt="" height="200" src="http://www.swapmagic3.com/superufopro8/upload_files/intro05.gif" width="400" /></div><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
3.<u><b> Memory Card Exploit:</b></u><br />
<u><b><br />
</b></u><br />
The PS2 Memory Card is exploited (made bootable) so that you can install a software called Free Mcboot on the memory card. Free McBoot is a software that let you run various different homebrew apps like uLaunch.Elf (It will help to play games from external hard disk).<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">**Or if you have an already modded PS2 then you can download uLaunch.Elf and burn it to a cd and then install Free McBoot.<span style="background-color: #fefdfa; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span style="background-color: #fefdfa; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><b>(So if you already have a modded PS2 then you don't need to exploit your memory card- there is another method to play games from a hard disk about which I will post later).</b></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: #fefdfa; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><b><br />
</b></span></div>Information regarding Free McBoot and how to install it can be seen here:<br />
<a href="http://freemcboot.info/">http://freemcboot.info</a><br />
<br />
***********************<br />
If you have any of these methods, then you can also play games from an external hard disk (a USB might be used but gameplay is very slow).<br />
Choose any of these methods. But I recommend the modchip method or Swap Magic because they are much easier to use!<br />
<br />

Many of you guys might have the PS2 which is the best selling console of all time. Then you should also know that the PS2 can be modded. So what does modding<br />
<a name='more'></a> a PS2 mean?<br />
<br />
Well when you mod your PS2 you make a modification in the hardware of the PS2. This is usually done by people to allow them to play pirated games(bought from the market or downloaded from the internet) or backed up games. It also allows the installation of some homebrew apps.<br />
<br />
There are mainly three types of PS2 mods. I will explain about the mods in detail in another post!!</div>Asif Salamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07108456248391121330noreply@blogger.com1
