Jailbreak PS3 with firmware 3.55 or below

If you have a PS3 with firmware 3.55 or below, then it's very easy to jailbreak the PS3.
Things you will need:

1. A Pen Drive
2. Custom Firmware 3.55 which can be downloaded here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?zjex5bncj1505ua

If you have a firmware below 3.55 then you have to update to the official firmware 3.55.


Steps to update to official firmware 3.55 :
1. Make a folder inside your pen drive called PS3 (all caps).
2. Make another folder inside the PS3 folder called UPDATE (all caps).
3. Download the official 3.55 firmware update from here:
http://www.ps3hax.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=557&act=down
4. Inside the UPDATE folder paste the firmware that you downloaded from the above link.(It will be called PS3UPDAT.PUP).
5. Plug the pen drive in your PS3.
6. Go to Settings.
7. Go to System Update.
8. Select Update via Storage Media.
9. Follow the on screen instructions and you're done!!
10. To make sure you have updated correctly, check the firmware of your PS3(refer to the article given on this site).


Steps To Update to Custom Firmware 3.55(jailbreak):


1. Make a folder inside your pen drive called PS3 (all caps).
2. Make another folder inside the PS3 folder called UPDATE (all caps).
3. Download the official 3.55 firmware update(Link provided above).
4. Inside the UPDATE folder paste the firmware that you downloaded from the above link.(It will be called PS3UPDAT.PUP).
5. Plug the pen drive in your PS3.
6. Go to Settings.
7. Go to System Update.
8. Select Update via Storage Media.
9. Follow the on screen instructions and you're done!!
10. To make sure you have updated correctly, check the firmware of your PS3(refer to the article given on this site).
11. The firmware will still be called 3.55 or 3.55-jb.
12. Your PS3 is jailbroken!!
